The biggest problem in real estate is knowing whether you should buy, sell or wait.

That decision sits underneath almost every housing conversation. Yet it is the one the current system is least equipped to answer continuously and objectively.

This is the problem Aligre exists to solve.

The structural problem

The real estate industry is built around the transaction. Agents, lenders, inspectors, appraisers, title and escrow - nearly every professional in the process is compensated when a deal closes. The system is optimized for execution once someone has already decided to move.

What it is not optimized for is the harder question that comes first: Should I?

No one is paid to help someone decide not to move. No one is paid to challenge the premise. No one is paid to sit with uncertainty long enough to get the decision right.

This is not a failure of individual professionals, nor is it their intent. It is a structural reality. When compensation is tied to the transaction, the incentives inevitably shape the advice. Even well-intentioned people operate inside a system that rewards closing, not deliberation.

The cost of that structure shows up quietly in people’s lives: anxiety, confusion, rushed decisions, financial regret, and the social friction of reaching out too early and then managing the follow-up.

The industry is excellent at the how. Most people are still stuck on the if.

What objective guidance actually requires

For guidance to be trustworthy, it must be decoupled from the transaction. The source of the guidance cannot profit from the decision the user makes. If it does, the advice will always be open to question.

That requirement creates a hard constraint. A company that wants to deliver this kind of guidance cannot monetize the transaction. Charging consumers directly for advice will not produce widespread adoption. Giving the product away for free can drive usage, but it is not a business model by itself.

The only viable path is to change the underlying economics - to find ways to sustain the work of guidance without ever taking a cut of the decision.

Objectivity is not a marketing claim. It is a design and business model requirement.

Why this matters

Knowing where to lay your head at night is not a U.S. problem or even a global problem. It is a human problem. It existed long before us, and it will exist long after we’re gone.

People deserve answers that are personalized to their actual financial reality and goals, updated as their life and the market change, free of pressure to transact, and available without social cost or professional gatekeeping.

They deserve guidance that exists whether or not a deal ever happens.

Our point of view

People deserve objective real estate guidance.

That is the belief Aligre is built on.

We are building a Real Estate Decision Platform - software that connects a person’s financial picture, their goals, and live market data so they can see, continuously and clearly, whether they can and whether they should.

The guidance is free for the consumer. It does not depend on a transaction. It is structurally designed to remain in their best interest.

We are not trying to make the existing process slightly more efficient. We are not here to help you buy or sell a home. We’re here to help you understand if or when you should. We are building the missing decision layer that should have existed all along: a place where the decision can be examined carefully, without pressure, and without anyone’s compensation depending on the outcome.

The industry can have the transaction. Aligre is here for the decision.
